Arkitek Aziz was formerly known as Murray Ward and Partners (Brunei). Its origin dates back to 1966 when Murray Ward and Partners (London) were commissioned to design the original Terminal Building and ancillaries at the Brunei International Airport.

In 1976, a resident partner was established in Bandar Seri Begawan and the office, originally concerned with the Airport alone, became constituted as a general practice interested in all kinds of projects in the public and private sector.

Ar. Hj. Amiruddin Abdul Aziz joined Murray Ward and Partners (Brunei) in 1980 and became partner on 1^st May 1986.

The company formally separated from Murray Ward & Partners (London) in October 1986 with continuing professional obligation and the name of the company was changed to Arkitek Aziz.
